MEMBER PROTECTION OFFICER COURSE
Football NSW will be hosting a Member Protection Officer Course on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 March 2008 at Valentine Sports Park, Glenwood.
We encourage all association and club Member Protection Officers to attend this course, if they have not already done so, to gain a better understanding of Member Protection and to assist in providing a safer and more enjoyable sporting environment.

ON-LINE CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING
Through the efforts of the NSW Department of Sport & Recreation and the Australian Sports Federation an On-line Child Protection training course is now available for Peak Sporting organisations, Associations, Clubs, Coaches, Officials, Parents and players.
The Courses are available at the Play By The Rules website: www.playbytherules.net.au
Then select FREE On-line Training then select Child Protection - New South Wales
These courses have been designed to help educate and assist the soccer community in creating a safer environment for children and young people involved in sport.
The course helps Peak bodies, Clubs and Associations to understand and learn more about:
- Educating their staff and volunteers
- Complying with the requirements of the Working With Children Check
- Responding promptly to child protection issues
- Developing models of good sporting behaviour
- Making sport a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.
The course helps coaches, officials, parents and players learn more about:
- Supporting their local club[base ']s child protection and risk management policies
- The importance of reporting any incidents of abuse to their club
- Setting examples of good sporting behaviour
- Making sport a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants
